During the past 17 years, Shaye Strager has been a triple threat of publicity and promotions for the fine jewelry, fashion and accessories industries. A respected stylist and on-air authority on fashion trends, Shaye multi-tasked her way through several agencies before finding the perfect haven for her talents at Studio PR, an agency she started with Jim DeMattei in 2005.
Shaye started her career as the Media Liaison for the Jewelry Information Center in New York City in 1998. She toured the country speaking about the latest trends in fine jewelry on local TV news stations and in regional newspapers and magazines. In 1999, she styled her first runway show with fine jewelry live in Times Square for the Millennium Fashion Show, which featured fashions from Oscar de la Renta, Michael Kors and Donna Karan. Since then, she’s continued to style fashion runway shows with jewelry and accessories for fashion brands such as Carmen Marc Valvo, Tracy Reese, Rock & Republic, and Kevan Hall. In 2015 she produced the backstage direction and execution for the ZAC Zac Posen/Google Made with Code show for NYFW Spring 2016.
Working behind the scenes during New York’s Fashion week taught Shaye the ability to dress, accessorize and style models in record time. In addition to runway styling, she has worked closely with fashion designers on red carpet outfits for award shows and movie premiers for their celebrity clientele. In the beginning, Shaye was called on to find the perfect accessories to complete the "look" for celebrities and socialites alike. It wasn't long until she dressed stars with their head to toe ensembles. Two of her most visible styling clients over the years include Oscar and Tony Award winner Marcia Gay Harden and Pauletta Washington.
In 2012, Shaye resigned as the Director of Studio PR while her family transitioned to Atlanta. In July 2013, she welcomed the opportunity to consult for Studio PR and any public relations requests should be channeled through Dan Griffin. Shaye’s work for Sevan Bicakci and K.Brunini Jewels is one of love and devotion for their brands.
Strager Style is a fashionable frenzy of styling and television work based on Shaye’s clients and contributorships that span from New York to Atlanta. Each day is a chance to make the world more fashionable. Look out for a new editorial series #InTrueStragerFashion to launch in 2016.
